Sometimes very simple tips can make organizing much more efficient (and easy, enjoyable...). When cleaning up/cleaning out, try to physically stay in one room- make piles (label them!) for things that belong in different zones (i.e.: take to the car, baby's room, office) instead of running all over the house to distribute items. When you're done, distribute all at once. You'll be much less harried, tired and distracted by saving distribution until the end.
